Micachu/The Invisible/Findo Gask @ Captains Rest 9/10/09

When the dudes who run HLDB booked the line up for tonight, it was as usual, a solid showing of new bands. After the Mercury nominations though, even they would have been forgiven for thinking the show would be pulled, of course due to the heavily increased profile of second band on the bill The Invisible. Previously hitting Glasgow for Hinterland and a stupendious support slot with the Doves, post Mercury nomination The Invisible are now one of the most talked about new bands in the country.
Fortunately I was lucky enough to catch them in the ridiculously tiny Guardian Tent at Glastonbury because tonight HLDB had invited me to spin some tunes upstairs in the bar of The Captains Rest, for me that meant one Invisible song! Paying punters who hung around after the Invisible were in for a real treat though with headliners Micachu who are fresh from some Amercian dates. I managed to catch their last couple of songs and could’nt help but wish I’d said no to the dj-ing, definitely a band I’ll make sure to catch the full set next time.
Findo as usual were on fine form and played a host of new tunes, they have a residency called Crufts at Nice N Sleazys over the next months with some of the hottest up and coming Scottish bands guesting with them. For full details keep an eye on their tweets!
