SHRED YR FACE 3 hits Stereo this Friday

Written by admin on November 12th, 2009

The third Shred Yr Face tour that follows in the footsteps of previous amazing Shred Yr Face tours (Shred Yr Face 1 - Los Campesinos!, No Age and Times New Viking. Shred Yr Face 2 - The Bronx, Fucked Up and Rolo Tomassi). This Autumn’s tour takes a more laidback, lush, psych-folk vibe with ESPERS, THE CAVE SINGERS and WOODS confirmed to play.

ESPERS

Originally consisting of Greg Weeks, Meg Baird and Brooke Sietinsons, Espers activity centred around their ‘Esperhaus’, a house that has acted as a haven for like-minded artists and performers. The friendships, collaborations and creativity that occurs there has seen Espers multiply in number, with the addition of Otto Hauser (percussion, electronics) and Helena Espvall (cello). Their neo-psychedelic folk has won them a devoted following, drawing influence from chamber rock, aroque pop and late-’60s British folk. Their album ‘Espers 3′ is released on October 26th through Wichita.

THE CAVE SINGERS

“Post-folk masterpiece of a debut” NME on their 2008 album ‘Invitation Songs’

Formed from the ashes of three disbanded hardcore/post-punk bands (Quirk from Hint Hint, Lund from Cobra High and Fudesco from Pretty Girls Makes Graves and also Murder City High), The Cave Singers have entranced critics and music fans alike with their debut album ‘Invitation Songs’ and recently released second record ‘Welcome Joy’.
Expect their live show to mirror the rich and gorgeous sounds of ‘Welcome Joy’, heralding their dramatic, forlorn and occasionally triumphant music in a wonderfully autumnal haze.

WOODS

WOODS are primarily the duo of Jeremy Earl (owner of Fuck It Tapes and Woodsist) and Jarvis Taveniere (Meneguar and Wooden Wand), and aided live by friends G. Lucas Crane on tape effects and Kevin Morby. Jeremy’s Brooklyn based label, Woodsist, has recently released Vivian Girls, Wavves, Kurt Vile, Sic Alps and Crystal Stilts, among many others. Their debut UK single ‘To Clean’ was released in August 09 on Half Machine Records and features on their fourth album ‘Songs of Shame’, released through Woodsist and their cassette tape label Shrimper.
